Marissa focuses on theoretical population, community, and evolutionary ecology applied to conservation biology, particularly in marine systems.  Ecological topics include life history evolution, local adaptation, and resilience theory, and applied topics include marine reserve design and monitoring, sustainable aquaculture and hatchery management, ecological responses to climate change, and human-driven rapid evolution.
